A tandem bicycle: freedom made for two

On the Twinny tandem bicycle, the rider sits at the front with a clear view ahead, while the passenger sits at the rear. Optionally, the rider can also sit at the rear. Front steering comes as standard, with rear steering available as an option. Both riders can pedal, but only the main rider controls the brakes and steering, making it ideal when one person wants to stay active but benefits from company and a little support. A low step-through on both positions makes getting on and off easy for both riders.

The freewheel hub

The vanRaam Twinny tandem can be fitted with a switchable freewheel hub, giving the main rider control over how the co-rider pedals. Two modes are available with front steering: both pedals linked so the co-rider pedals in sync, or co-rider pedals running free so they can rest or move at their own pace. With rear steering, a third mode allows the co-rider to pedal independently.

Intelligent assistance built in

The Twinny is available with vanRaam’s Silent System electric pedal assist. Near-silent, individually programmable, and with start assist for smooth pull-aways. Makes longer rides and hillier terrain much more manageable for both riders.

Make it yours

Choose your colour and configure the rest around you. Add electric assist, a mirror, a backrest, foot fixation, a basket, or direction indicators. The vanRaam Twinny is also available as a split version for easier transport and storage. Every bike is built to your specification, by hand, at the vanRaam factory in Varsseveld.
